Punishment gives nothing to Funny Firefighter Sometimes I Look Back On My Life And I’m Seriously Impressed I Am Still Alive Shirt nobody, a better society strives to improve. It’s citizens even when they did something against the law. Another point that I think you should add is the fact that someone’s sentence affects a lot of people. Families and friends suffer too and they don’t deserve to be punished as well. I always look at it this way. It’s better to waste resources and time and effort rehabilitating someone. Who couldn’t really go back to living in society than doling out death to innocent people? I would agree with that for most crimes, except career criminals or terrorists.

Or where people were held hostage to get them forcibly released. For instance, the 1999 Air India hijacking ended up with the release of 3 terrorists. Who eventually went on to cause thousands of deaths (including 9/11) and are still at large. Some people are just simply too dangerous to be allowed to live, it’s not a matter of retaliation or punishment to kill them, but simply public safety. I would never support life in prison or the death penalty as a retaliatory punishment. That, for me, would be way more severe than just prison or death.
